Bonnie Barnett 

Bonnie Barnett is an improvising vocalist who has been working in this genre since the early 1970's at the University of California, San Diego (La Jolla). She has 2 releases out on Nine Winds Records, appears on a number of compilations, and is the featured soloist on a Swiss For 4 Ears release, EARTH BOUND, a work composed for her by composer Hermann Buhler. She has made tours in California, the East Coast and Europe, and currently resides in Los Angeles. She works frequently with woodwind player Richard Wood and bassist Hal Onserud, and just played at line/space/line in Los Angeles, and the Evander Music Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Barnett began her TUNNEL HUM PROJECT in 1981, with her first public vocal ritual in San Francisco. This work has continued through to the present day, with 69 events to her credit -- small acoustic events, live radio events, multiple site works connecting participants via satellite,videophone and webcasting links.

Barnett is also a radio host, promoting avant garde music in all its guises, a role she first embraced in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1970's. She now co-hosts TRILOGY, a Los Angeles based program which airs weekly on KXLU-FM, on the campus of Loyola Marymount University, and which streams live at www.kxlu.com
